This is not where breakdancing comes from. Everyone knows that breakdancing came from the streets of NYC and at the time African Americans and Puerto Ricans were mostly the only ones practicing it. This is just Russian trepak. Sorry to bursts your bubbles people.

Its just a bit of fun dude, i don't think anyone actually believes that Russian Cossacks invented breakdancing. Although that is a pretty awesome thought haha. WW2 could have been averted through dance off. Imagine Hitlers moves! (he strikes me as a limber dude)

Nope. This dance is 90% russian folk dance and 10% russian cossaks dance. There is little difference between russian (from south and siberia) cossaks and "ukranian" cossaks.

The concept of dancing in a confrontational manner pre-dates civilization. When you think about it, many creatures in nature have 'dance-offs,' to solve territorial disputes, sort out pecking orders, and to obtain mates. Breakdancing as a style WAS invented in NYC, but the competitive aspect of it is nothing new.

Cossacks were a part of the Soviet army and wore the exact same uniform. Depending on the host ofcourse.
Its Russian Cossacks dressed in Soviet uniforms.
